What's Needed
I spent a good part of today reading blogs (I probably spend too much time doing that) and, of course, politics was front and center, particularly the war on terror. It's pretty clear that the war on terror is a war with Islamofacism. So, in the midst of trying to keep my mind centered on God, I'm reading about people who blow themselves and others up, etc.
What to do? Ultimately, what we have here is people, like most of our brothers and sisters, who are living out of a perception of the world that does not see Being/God in each and every one and each and every thing. They are, it can be easily argued, pretty far out on the scale when driving a car loaded with explosives into a crowd of children and detonating it is somehow a holy event. But, to some extent, misperception is misperception no matter how far away from reality it is.
Interimly, I think that the USA and the free world have to endeavor to stop these people, despite the fact that it is, to some degree, playing in the same misperception as they are. Innocents must be protected. A person can attain clarity from anywhere, but it certainly can't hurt to be approaching it from freedom rather than from living in fear in a facist state.
Ultimately, there has to be a shift in consciousness to the point where what they are believing becomes unthinkable, even for them. A rising tide lifts all boats, and that applies to consciousness as well as to economics... or fishing! Many, many people need to consciously connect with Being. We need to see our being in Being, and live lives that stop conforming to what the world "knows" is normal. We need to break up the "already always understanding" of what the world is.
To me, this is the only real, permanent answer. Of course, it would be the answer even if this didn't confront us. Actually, the framing of the question isn't that much different, it's just that the focus is different.
I need to percieve the love of Being, and be the love of Being. I disavow any "knowing" or "understanding" I think I have and open myself to the Truth, to direct perception of Being. I open myself to help from Being, and from guidence by awakened brothers and sisters so that I can see and experience the love in all.
The time for "struggling" to get there is over. There is no reality in the struggle. God has withheld nothing from me, or anyone else. There is no test to pass, or some "ego-self" to overcome. There is only surrender into the loving Being, and a willingness to allow It to reveal It's True Nature.
I look forward to the time when I and many many others are awake and are pulling our brothers and sisters, including those who are now confusing their minds with thoughts of martyrdom or the advantages they can take in oppressing others, into awakening with us. Currently there are many different concepts of God, few of which include an ability to experience Being consciously in this moment. Soon, Being will become present and observable, and minds will begin to open and change.

For most of my life my relationship with God has been a priority. Basically, I have been searching for the answers to the questions:
Who/what is God?
Who am I in relation to God?
I discovered some time ago that the answers were not to be found in psychology, or "working through" a bunch of "stuff". Human psychology is, to put a quick and dirty label on it, a bottomless pit. This is because it is working in an area where answers are not to be found. It is looking deeper into the "ego" (a term that is used differently by people talking about spirituality than it is in psychology--in "spiritual" jargon, it means the aspect of a "self" that is NOT connected spiritual with God, but is made up of what we believe about ourselves and the world that we use to survive in the world we believe in) for a way "out" of ego-consciousness. A good workable philosophy is a better strategy than psychology.
Recently I've realized that any belief in the ego, or in me being what is called the ego, is a false belief. It comes down to this: There IS nothing but God. God is BEING... a verb. I could say that God is Intelligent, Loving, Being, because that is the nature (or part of it anyway) of God's Being. So, if God is everything (not IN everything, but actually BEING everything), then if I'm not seeing God in everything, it's because I am viewing the world "through a glass darkly."
To quote Raj, my teacher, "You are in the middle of the Kingdom of Heaven, and you are either seeing it for what it is, or you are seeing it through a glass darkly." The nature of the "dark glass" is my belief in the definitions I've given to each and every thing in my experience. To quote Raj again, "All that is needed to see the Kingdom of Heaven, to see God right where you are, is curiousity... curiousity to see the God there and let go of your definitions."
The first definition I need to let go of is the definition of myself as something seperate from God. Or, worse, something in contrast to God--the ego which must be overcome. God is Being. I am ALSO being. My role, which I can do right now, here, today, in this place, is to Be with God/Being and witness it. I am Being in Being. The Christ Consciousness is being consciously aware of the Being of God. I am the Christ, the Child of God, who walks with and in God seeing His Being for what It Is. It's difficult to write about, because the words conjure a "something seperate" that is "doing something". It's not like there is an outside-of-here God that is being something here. God is Being (and, for sake of clarity, will mostly be referred to as such from now on). AND, I (and YOU) are also being, but with a unique consciousness that can participate with and observe and appreciate the Being. I could say that it's as simple as Being WITH God, united in the joy and love of Being.
So, I'm letting go of "doing it my own way" using my definitions. I am dedicated to consciously living my life WITH Being. I am willing to give up all of my understanding, and allow for a new vision of Being. I am living a life of "curiousity" to see the love of Being in all, and to BE the love of Being.
This blog is a record of my thoughts and experiences on that journey, as well as a place where I can record insights, or questions.
